Please note that this version of the AX Short Action is discontinued - this unit differs from the current version of the AX Short Action in that the diameter of the firing pin aperture is slightly larger. This aperture was reduced in size on the later models to help increase performance with certain rounds (e.g., 6.5x47 Lapua), but will function as intended with most short action rounds.

This provision is only for users who are intending to change the barrel to these other high-pressure calibers - users who use this rifle only for its advertised caliber, or calibers very close, will see no performance impact whatsoever.
