The Dan Wesson Specialist is a 1911-style handgun designed specifically to meet the demands of law enforcement professionals who require a durable and reliable firearm. Developed at the request of a police department, the Specialist comes fully loaded with a wide range of performance-enhancing features to meet the specific requirements of public servants.
The Specialist is the undercut trigger guard that allows for optimal hand placement, ensuring a secure grip and improved control. Additionally, the recessed slide stop is designed to accommodate the installation of laser grips, providing additional customization options for the user. The sights are Novak-style fixed sights that are snag-free and feature illuminated tritium lamps for accurate shooting in low light conditions. The tactical rear sight with an abrupt front face allows for easy one-handed slide manipulation.
The Specialist also boasts an inverted top rib between the front and rear sights, reducing glare and providing a clean sight picture in any lighting condition. User-friendly upgrades include an ambidextrous thumb safety for comfortable shooting with either hand, an extended magazine release, and a detachable flared magazine well for fast and easy reloads. The front and back straps feature 25 LPI checkering for superior grip, and the G10 grips are textured for added control over the weapon. The Specialist also comes equipped with an accessory rail for attaching a tactical light or laser.
