The Daniel Defense DD5 rifle is a new addition to the DD line of rifles and is designed for long-range precision shooting with semi-automatic options. It is available in three configurations: V3 (7.62x51mm with a 16” barrel), V4 (7.62x51mm or 6.5 Creedmoor with an 18” barrel), and V5 (6.5 Creedmoor or .260 Remington with a 20” barrel).

One of the notable features of the DD5 rifle is its adjustable gas block, which allows for optimal gas regulation for both suppressed and unsuppressed shooting. The upper and lower receivers of the rifle are CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and are Type III hard coat anodized. The barrel is made from Daniel Defense's proprietary steel and is cold hammer forged with a chrome-lined bore and a heavy phosphate coating on the exterior.

The DD5's bolt carrier group is DLC-coated for optimized cycling and durability. The free-floated handguard of the rifle features M-LOK attachment points and a full-length top rail for the mounting of various accessories such as NV/thermal attachments, tac lights, and lasers. The barrel is equipped with Daniel Defense's Superior Suppression Device, which is designed to reduce muzzle flash and muzzle rise during rapid fire.
