The Sig Sauer P226 Elite 9mm DA/SA 4.4" Compliant Optics Ready Pistol 226R-9-BSE-R2 is a modern iteration of the iconic P226, originally developed in the 1980s as a potential replacement for the US military's M1911-A1. Although it wasn't selected as the standard service pistol, it became the preferred sidearm of the US Navy SEALs for their special operations missions. This Sig Sauer 226R-9-BSE-R2 elite version retains the renowned reliability and performance of the original while introducing significant enhancements. It features SIGLITE sights for precise shooting in low-light conditions and a slimmer, ergonomic E2 grip for superior handling. Additionally, the pistol includes a short reset trigger (SRT) for rapid follow-up shots and an optics-ready slide for seamless integration of red dot sights.
